Celebrating 50 Pounds Lost with a Giveaway – Win copies of Michael Pollan’s “The Omnivore’s Dilemma,” “In Defense of Food,” and “Food Rules”!
This giveaway has ended! Congratulations to the winner!
Hooray! I’ve reached 50 pounds lost – and I’m celebrating by offering a giveaway!
One winner will receive one copy each of Michael Pollan‘s “The Omnivore’s Dilemma,” “In Defense of Food,” and “Food Rules!” These three books give a clear overview of the importance of eating natural, unprocessed foods!

“The Omnivore’s Dilemma” gives a thorough history of food in our country, and explains how our agricultural system is dependent on industrial corn, and how that affects the foods we have to choose from at our supermarkets. He also profiles a few organic farmers like Joel Salatin who are bucking the system by farming the way our ancestors did!
“In Defense of Food” goes further and discusses the way food science has changed the way we eat – to our ultimate detriment – and lays out an argument for rejecting the Western diet and eating simple, whole foods to be healthier – for us and for the planet.
“Food Rules” lays out how to follow three simple rules to eat more healthfully: eat food, mostly plants, and not too much!
These books offer a wealth of nutritional knowledge and are a must-read for anyone who wants to eat healthfully!
Michael Pollan also has a new book coming out in April called “Cooked: A Natural History of Transformation,” where he discusses his own experiences cooking! I can’t wait for it to come out!

50 lbs lost, that’s wonderful, way to go! A veggie I ate today? I made a smoothie for breakfast that had two big handfuls of spinach, a banana, and a couple strawberries. I love my spinach (kale is another favorite, but I was already out of that).
Congratulations on the weight loss. I have totally been trying to change my entire way of eating and I love Michael Pollan. I had spinach in my omelet this morning. I actually love vegetables and try to eat them as much as possible.
I already have those books so I’m not entering, I just want to say congrats! And what an awesome giveaway to share your knowledge.
I haven’t had my veggies yet today but I’m about to have some green juice
Congrats on your weight loss! I’d love to win. Today, I ate tomatoes.
I haven’t had my veggies today either. Just almond butter and wild honey in a whole wheat wrap for breakfast.
