My Weight Loss Has Been Turbo-Charged!! Here’s My Secret: (Spoiler Alert: It’s Vegetables)

This has been quite a lazy week for me.

Our Christmas decorations are still up…

christmas is still up....

Laundry overflows from the baskets…

laundry needs to be done....

and the floor is covered in a sprinkle of hair and food crumbs.

my floors are super gross.

And yet – this week has been incredibly successful!  I’m finally under 220 – and I’m almost at 50 pounds lost!

What did I do differently this week?  I didn’t buy an expensive product that changed my life, that’s for sure.

Basically, I realized that I’m not eating enough vegetables or drinking enough water, and both are necessary to signal to my body that it’s OK to burn stored fat.

And it isn’t as hard as many people think.  I didn’t buy organic produce at the farmer’s market and eat it raw.  That would be super hard, and like I said earlier, I had a very lazy week.

Here’s what I did: I bought frozen vegetables at the supermarket and microwaved them with a little butter.  That, and I drank several glasses of water throughout the day.

Seriously!  That’s all it took to push my body into fat-burning mode!

For the rest of the day, I ate my regular diet of delicious meat, fruit, vegetables, and salad with dressing, and continued to avoid bread, rice, or anything with flour or sugar.  But the extra-large serving of vegetables I’ve had the past few mornings has given my body a plethora of nutrients, feeding my cells without raising my blood sugar!

How often do you eat vegetables?  Are there some easy ways you can incorporate more vegetables into your diet?

Wow! Congratulations! :) I am working on incorporating more veggies into our diet, which hasn’t been too hard; the biggest challenge for us is taking out the carbs. It’s so tough! But I’m determined :) .

Congrats! That’s awesome. If you haven’t already watched it, I HIGHLY recommend Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. It’s a documentary about a guy who goes on a 60 juicing only diet and loses almost 100 pounds and clears up most of his medical conditions.

That said, I’ve just now starting to get into juicing. It can be so difficult for me to remember to eat all my veggies throughout the day, so I juice them and get em in one drink. It doesn’t have to be nasty. You can get creative with it. I have some awesome recipes if you’re interested.

Congrats! I started eating healthier and exercising this time last year and lost a good deal of weight. I gained it back after moving out of state with my family and I have absolutely no motivation to get myself back on track. I am quite frustrated with myself but I also know I need to be 100% committed before starting again. Ugghhhh….. I know what’s I start I’ll be fine. I only fell off track because we were eating out for the first few months we moved as we were looking for home. Makes me sad
