#Mamavation Monday – Setting Goals, Part II

Mamavation

Last week, I discussed my goals for the coming year.  Today, I’ll go into a bit more depth on my physical goals.

My physical goal for the past year has been to live a healthy lifestyle, because I want to set a good example for my son.  I want to raise him to be healthy – and I know that no matter what I tell him to do, he’s going to follow my example, so I need to set a good one.

I’ve found all sorts of resources since I began blogging that have helped me in this endeavor, but last week, I discovered a community of moms just like me working to live healthy lives – Mamavation!  Through the site, we can all support one another on our journey to health!  Awesome!

According to the women at Mamavation, goals should be specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time bound.  So, with these characteristics in mind, here is my updated physical goal for 2013:

I will follow a healthy, low carbohydrate eating plan that emphasizes whole foods while limiting processed foods and sugar.  I will also take time every day to be active, and work out at least 3 times a week.  And before the end of the year, I will be at a healthy weight.

In order to reach my goal, I’m applying to be a Mamavation Mom!!  Here’s my application video:

You can help me on Twitter by tweeting the following message:

“Hey @bookieboo! I want @newmommabeckers to be the next #Mamavation Mom. She has my support! http://bit.ly/aorv3Y”

Or you can post on your Facebook wall tagging me and linking back to the Mamavation page telling them why you think I’d make an excellent #Mamavation Mom!

Thanks everyone, and wish me luck!!
