Update on the Garden – My Plants are Still Alive!
About a month and a half ago, in an effort to follow Michael Pollan and Michelle Obama’s advice on the benefits of gardening to health, I planted some seeds in my backyard, in two clay pots. The identity of these seeds have been long forgotten, but I’ve faithfully watered them everyday on my way back and forth from the washing machine in my garage. I’m not much of a gardener, so I’m thrilled I haven’t killed these plants yet!
I’ve been wondering what I’d planted for weeks now, and whatever they are, they’ve finally bloomed!

I purchased the seeds at Target, so my next step is to go back to the store and look through the seed section to find the plants that match what’s sprouted.
In the meantime, what do you think they are?

Way to go…I planted some herbs a couple weeks ago. Surprisingly they are alive and growing everyday. Every morning I walk outside expecting them to be dead by either myself or my kiddos….but so far so good. xoxo

Awesome!! Glad to hear it!
We grow tomatoes and herbs outside in the summer. I wish that we have space to plant a vegetable garden but I am also not sure when I would have time to take care of it.
These plants look pretty great!
Thank you! I’ve thought about trying to grow tomatoes – if these stay alive until next May, I may give it a shot!
Thanks for stopping by!

Cacti I have successfully kept alive, but most other plants do not last more than a few weeks. I should give it another go, plants just make you feel better. I have no clue what they are, but your plants are lovely.
Thank you Nessa! I’ve found the same thing – for whatever reason, plants make a room feel sunnier!
