Saturday #30 – OC Fair!!
Last Saturday, Chris and I took Troy to his first county fair!! The OC Fair is in town for one more week, until August 12. We drove over early to try and get in at the early bird rate, but just missed it, (being late is a recurring theme with us…) and arrived at the fair somewhere around 11:30 am. At that point, I started snapping pictures, and I didn’t stop until we left around 6 pm.
I’ll let the pictures do most of the talking.
These pictures were taken all over the fair.
Troy was more excited by the flowers than the bubble lady, and Chris and I were excited most by this beautiful cake!
There were, of course, many animals to look at. Whoever gave this goat a beach chair is wonderful.
One of my favorite things to view at the fair are tablescapes. These two were my favorites – the top is themed “Dining in Paris,” and the bottom is “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” – and is a youth table, which makes it all the more impressive!
We also indulged in a little wine tasting! The red on the left is a very good pinot noir, and the white on the right is a viognier, which I have never tried before, and did not pronounce right when I asked for it.
Of course, what is the fair without crafts? Trick question – you can’t have a county fair without great crafts!
The other thing all county fairs have is delicious food. We managed to avoid anything fried, and I ended up partaking in a delicious lamb gyro for lunch, an heirloom tomato as a snack, and, because it was within my calorie range, a slice of french bread pizza for dinner.
Awesome fair! Troy’s best ever. Also his first ever.
What are your favorite things at the fair?
(P.S.: I made these photo collages using the iPhone app Diptic.)

Looks like so much fun! We have a few fairs in this area but none that showcase tablescapes. What a fun idea!
They are so fun to look at!!

Awesome!!
Thanks for checking it out!!
Country Fairs are so much fun – especially when you have a little one to join.
Thanks for the follow, I’m happily following back.
Cool! Glad we could connect!
I love county fairs. It seems that since the kids have gotten older (besides my 12 year old), I don’t get to them as often now. I too love the tablescapes. I love the 4-H barns and seeing all the unique and crafty stuff that so many participate in, especially the children. And….fair food! Don’t even get me started. LOL It’s the one place that I will “willingly” break the rules of my healthy eating. Just because it doesn’t happen often and I LOVE an elephant ear and refuse to share it (being honest here….lol).
I love your weight loss journey. Your new habits you share are so similar to my journey a few years back. You have shared some great tips and resources here for others in your other posts. You are onto something…RUN WITH IT! ; D
Looking forward to continuing to follow you blog. It’s GOOD STUFF! = )

Thank you Irish!!! I am so curious about what an elephant ear is (unless it’s literally an elephant ear!!)
